We've been catching up from the SHOT Show and taking care of loose ends since the end of the expo, but we've got a lot of news that hasn't been posted yet. Much of the airsoft highlights have been covered, but we'll go over the KWA airsoft products in depth so you have a better idea of what to expect this summer.
With some of the most anticipated news in the airsoft industry, KWA announced their new 2010 lineup at the SHOT Show. Some of their new products, like the new KWA KZ75, a replica based on the CZ75, and the KP8 Compact Tactical, were announced last year, but will actually end up on store shelves this year. Other products like the new KWA 1911 PTP series and the KWA MP9 were hoped for and hinted at, but were confirmed at the show. The KWA Gas Blowback M4 series, however, was wholly unexpected and is still the buzz of milsim players and skirmishers alike who are interested in gas powered rifles for realism. Here's all the data we have on these items so far:
We've written up a new page called Airsoft 101 for anyone that's looking for some general knowlege on the basics of Airsoft. The page covers everything from the proper bb weight to use for your gun to how to play a variety of different games. Be sure to give it a read, and if you think we've left out any important information then be sure to email us via our contact form.
Well Adam and I are back from covering the airsoft industry at the SHOT Show, it's too bad that we only had two full days to get as much information to you as possible, but I think we got the most important things covered. We'll try to write up a summary later this week and have it posted. In the meantime feel free to check our initial reports and our Facebook page which has all of our mobile posts that were live from the floor.
the PTS AEG's have an estimated relase in April or May
UMAREX
the 416 GBB carbine will retail around $410, will shoot approximately 410fps, and will have a 35rd magazine that will most likely be proprietary.
UMAREX has also stated that they're going to begin production of high end AEG's starting with HK style AEG's and GBB pistols. Hopefully by April they'll have a full a line of MP5's, G36's, and 416's in both electric and gas.
Another interesting note is that we've received word that HK is actually suing distributors of Echo1 and Classic Army for trade dress on any G36 style AEG. It sounds like HK wants a slice of the pie and is doing exactly what Glock has tried to do, let's just hope that HK doesn't make sub-par junk replicas like Glock.
This is our first full report after a packed day at the 2010 SHOT Show. We covered a lot of ground, but we’d like to share the highlights of the day. We had a chance to check out some very cool new products and get some great pictures.
Hey everyone, we're here in Vegas and have already heard some interesting and exciting news! as expected the Vulcan minigun from Classic Army will be shown this week plus a gas operated FPG9 from MAGPUL PTS. Word is that the FPG9 is a conversion kit that requires the Glock 18C to operate. The distributor of Classic Army has also told us that they're planning on launching their Sportline brand with metal bushings instead of the old nylon bushings.
We've also heard that Ares is producing a metal PPSH with wood furniture and that their future line of G36's will most likely include Umarex HK trademarks.
And by far the best news we've heard yet is that it's likely that Classic Army will have their own M4 gas blow back carbine based on the Western Arms system, but it will carry an already preexisting Tango Down body! now this GBB M4 is still in the early stages of production, but it's looking like it'll be a reality soon.
Hey everyone, just as a heads up, we're going to have boots on the ground at the 2010 Shot Show this week. We're going to apply for a media badge so we can take pictures without hassle. We'll also be uploading mobile pictures live from the floor to our Facebook and Twitter pages, so if you want to catch the latest and greatest from the airsoft industry then be sure to follow us!
The exceedingly popular Softshell Jackets from Condor are back in stock, so be sure to get them while they last! Take it from us, pretty much every Airsoft Outlet NW employee owns a Condor Softshell to deal with the Oregon rainfall. This jacket is also great for playing outdoors since it has zippers underneath the arms to allow more airflow when you start heating up. So if you're looking to keep warm on and off the field then the Softshell is for you!

If you’re a local to the Northwest and are an active participant in the Airsoft community then you’ve probably heard of a website called AirsoftPacific.com. This Portland based website has become the centralized hub for everything Airsoft in the region. After going live December of 2001, it has to date steadily amassed an impressive 7,400 registered users who zealously post and discuss a rich variety of topics. Visitors can find subjects from the inevitable “what gun should I get???” to the hilarious picture thread “Candid Pictures of Your Mom”.
Now it may not have been Matt Rowell’s idea to create a thread to showcase images of Internet meme’s, but it was his vision to create AirsoftPacific.com.
The Echo1 distributor has recently released this statement to the public:
"Dear Valued Echo1 Customer:
Over the past several months the economy of our country, as well as the world, has experienced cost increases in global commodities. Naturally inflation has been a by-product of these cost increases. This situation combined with the depreciation of the US dollar against the Chinese Yuan and other foreign currencies (please see chart below), has forced us (albeit reluctantly) to raise prices on our Automatic Electric Guns (AEGs). Consequently there will be an approximate 5% increase in dealer cost. The Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) will be increased 5% to ensure the same great margins of the Echo1USA brand.
We want to emphasize that this is only the second price increase in approximately 4 YEARS, so we appreciate your understanding.
UPDATED PRICING AND M.A.P. EFFECTIVE; JAN 1st, 2010."
